The unique façade appears as a series of flowerpots sprouting lush rooftop gardens and complemented by vigorous green environments and surrounding Forfatterhuset Kindergarten. Innovative kindergarten in Copenhagen, Denmark, characterised by curved corners, lush roof gardens and a special brick façade that gives the building a warm, modern feel and at the same time reflects its historic surroundings. The kindergarten consists of five small houses held together by a unique brick band which also surrounds the playground.

Forfatterhuset åbnede i februar 2012, som børneinstitution i "De Gamles By" på indre Nørrebro. Vi startede op som vuggestue for 120 børn i midlertidige pavilloner. I juli 2014 flyttede vi ind i vores nye fantastiske børnehus på Edith Rodes Vej 2, og blev en integreret institution. The Forfatterhuset Kindergarten by COBE brings a breath of life to the neighbourhood with this flexible, innovative architecture created by a studio with a focus on the actual urban surroundings.

With Forfatterhuset Kindergarten, planned for these idyllic surroundings, the main idea behind the building is to introduce young life to coexist in harmony with the elderly community in a generous way that gives more than it takes away. The building is designed as a kids’ village scattered like “potted plants” across a terrace.
